We are delighted to announce our Autumn Master Class, under the
direction of Master Florist Geoffrey Hughes assisted by Barbara
Shakespeare NDSF and Principal of FDB,
member of Association of floristry teachers, along with Lynda Owen
the World Judge as a member of the UK Floristry Judges Guild, NDSF will take classes from 25th
until the 28th of
September 2012.
This year, we will move out of the Capital to the flower design studio in
Weston super Mare. London is experiencing a busy and
eventful period with lots of excessive cost. As you see from the dates of 2012
we are in mid week so as students can go to the RHS Malvern flower show
right after the class as well as on to the Dutch Floriade from Bristol airport.
We are putting on a programme which is once again different
and adds to the experience that Flower Design of Britain always delivers
year on year and why master class is the time to up your knowledge.

Day 1 25th September
Welcome by GEOFFREY HUGHES and BARBARA SHAKESPEARE followed by
outline of course.

Wax and flowers incorporating natural woods
10.00am - 4.30pm
Day 2 26th September
BARBARA SHAKESPEARE
Contemporary Christmas floistry using both fresh and manufactured
products. Looking at new ways of putting colour with the object
and producing different sensations on the eye. The way they emits
or reflects light may be through your own photography.

Day 3 27th September
LYNDA OWEN
She will deliver her own class with up to date modern thinking --- drawn
from the world stage she works on with the R.H.S. World Skills
Organisation and a professional European Floristry Association . These
days this is one of Lynda's rare teaching assignments and is working with
Geoff and Barbara as a personal friend we are very thankful to her.

GEOFFREY HUGHES
Theme: Over the Top and gets you thinking. The master will give
you things to do as individuals !
Last year we opened Pandora's Box and worked on each design. We
will have another exiting things to pass on to you!

EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL TOUR
28th September

Visiting Bristol and Clifton area
Accompanied visit to the very historic Port City of Bristol sight
seeing, after this the students will be set down in the Clifton area of
the city where there are interesting and very nice
restaurants. Pick up at 8.45 pm
29th September
Pickup at 8.45am
RHS Malvern flower show
Arriving at the RHS Autumn Malvern show around 10.00am through to 3.00pm, the students will be able to view
all the beautiful Fauna and Flora many wonderful examples of
product.
After pick up at 3.00pm Geoff will take students for a complementary tea in
his garden where we will hoped to be joined Mrs. Lynda Owen and husband Ray.
We then will set off on tour back towards the west country , via the
beautiful Wye Valley passing historic sites , stopping at a county pub
for a drink or bite to eat, then on over the famous Brunel Suspension
Bridge to Weston-super-Mare.
* Trips a total £ 75 to cover all travelling expenses including tolls
plus entrance to the RHS Malvern flower show. This fee is completely separate from course fees . Any stops for meals and refreshments
are at students own expense.
World renowned for her role as an International Judge, Authoress, and
Gold Medalist herself in many competitions. She has judged floristry
competitions throughout Great Britain and Ireland also the World Cup of
Floristry, Eurofleurs and the Russian National Floristry Competition.
Currently she is a judge and vice chairman of the Royal Horticultural
Society Floristry committee. She is also a judge for UK/World
Skills Organization and secretary of the UK Professional Floristry
Judges. Lynda has also been helping Florint to devise a European
Judges assessment. She has been at the forefront of
floristry, pushing the boundaries, leading the drive for higher
standards and increasing the awareness of consumers to the great joys of

Entry to the course
This course caters for students who would like to challenge
something new in the industry and are aiming to obtain further
knowledge of the latest floristry techniques. It doesn't matter if you
are a professional or not, but requires some knowledge of
floristry. We welcome everybody who has great passions for
flowers!
